Reclaiming My Camera in 2025: Capturing Art in Everyday Life

Somewhere along the way, I stopped carrying my camera. I used to document everything—moments big and small, the way the light hit my morning coffee, the quiet in-between moments of a road trip, the laughter of friends gathered around a table (playing Cards Against Humanity—lol!). But over the years, I drifted away from that practice, reaching for my iPhone instead of my camera, snapping quick photos for convenience rather than creation.

And I miss it.

There’s something different about picking up a camera with intention. It’s not just about capturing an image—it’s about seeing. Slowing down. Composing. Finding beauty in the mundane. My camera isn’t just a device; it’s a tool for creating art, for freezing time in a way that feels deliberate and meaningful.

So in 2025, I’m reclaiming that part of myself. I want to bring my camera back into my daily life—not just for big events or travel but for the simple, ordinary moments that deserve to be remembered. Not everything has to be content. Some things are just for me, for the joy of creating, for the pleasure of seeing the world through a different lens.

Here’s to capturing more light, more laughter, more life—one frame at a time. 📸

A little slice of life. :)
